No offense to any of you, but I personally believe requiring membership to the site in order to download skins...sucks...especially when your not accepting new members.

This is the "best" site I'm aware of for Renegade skins, and I've been downloading from this site for a long time. I'm highly disapointed that I can no longer do so...as are many I'm sure.

I do believe I registered previously, but I was having a problem loging in, don't remember why. As it stands, I can't login now.

I am however interested in knowing the reason for the switch to requiring membership to download, and if there may be any possibility of your retracting the requirment for membership.

A site like this should be able to let people download skins quickly without any registration needed.

Try to register you again. It should work now.

I dont change it back to public. I already made a poll/vote few months ago where i asked WHAT YOU WANT.
Public downloads or Member only downloads and the most guys votet for Members only.

Its good that you like my website, so is it so much to register you? It needs 5 mins of your life. Also to post a "feedback" to the downloaded skin isnt hard, that would keep the website active.


Its very simple why the registration was blocked. I loaded a backup yesterday and it automatically block all new registrations after a backup load. I just forgot to re-enable the registration form.
It is now enable =)

What's the reason it's being changed in the first place, I don't think it matters if you let people register first, that's only annoying on their side...All you gain is a +1 member in your data, but what does that matter..? It's not like it gets more famous with registered people that make an account and never use it again, they will even forget they already had an account and re-register..
Basically thisway you have a false amount of 'members' seeing some will have 2 or even 3 accounts.

More members = higher INTERN rank @ the hosting company | High rank = free gifts like a domain for 1 year. I save my money and keep this site online.
Also only 25% of the forums are for members only.
the rest can be downloaded from guests.

Gimme other ideas and i remove the "downloads for members only"

I tried it with Credits section, worked for like 1 month. I tried it with a new credits system, i tried it with Skin contests and much more. I even tried it with 200MB free upload space...doesnt work.
All i want is a active forum. Remember this is a forum not 100% download site.
And a forum should be active and not only used to be a download portal.

The forum was fucking active at the beginning...mostly 40 posts per day..now we have 40 posts per month. And its not cause Renegade die.... its cause some guys are to lazy to spent 20 seconds to reply or 2 mins to register an account.

Quite simple really, nobody releases skins at the moment = no one to comment those skins.
Only posts now are posted by recently registrated people bumping a 1 year old topic saying: NICE JOB I REALLY GONNA USE THIS SKIN.
If people are actually sharing skins by releasing them instead of trading them on msn this forum would be indeed very more active.

And @ op, a good skin mostly requires a lot of tie and effort. It isn't possible to just create a good looking skin from nowere. You can download such a skin wihtin a minute. So please don't go complaining it took you two minutes to register.

lol i had a problem registering to in the beginning but honestly it was totally worth it after you see what these guys can create. is simply amazing, and for them to share their files with us(random ass people online) i think it is awsome.

make a 1337 clan for funwars or somthing ;] i can honestly see why this could be seen as a dowload websight because it has the best dl you can get for ren. im not really sure how u cud turn this around but mabey if u guys had some good idea to tie these 2 together it might come up with some active players/people who actally give a shit and not just want to gain access to your skin vault. lol

This site just needs active skinners again, but that's not an easy job

lol mostly people who creat skins now creat such good skins/models they don't want to share with everyone just them and maby a few lucky choosen.
