This is one of the best model replacements I've seen so far for renegade. This one and the hl2 repairgun replacement.
Really good job on this one.

It's an machine gun, so no autorifle. It isn't a real chaingun though but it is way more close to that than a autorifle.
A chaingun is a heavy weapon just like the machine gun, they both have a big fire power and if you look at all the weaons in renegade the chaingun is the best to be replaced with a machine gun. I really like the modek, I haven't tested it out yet, but if the fire really sucks, you could always use the normal renegade fire sound. Or make/search another one yourself.

I added the sound of a m4 with silencer, wich somehow makes it fit way better into renegade (somehow all weapons have a silenced sound).
The thing that worries me more about this are the hand-positions, the model sure looks great but when I tried ingame I could only see a little part of the gun Sad

i have never seen the urimas replacement, so therefore i cant have stolen it from him. i found the model in an online 3d model store in the "free bin" and made it work for renegade. (with help from a friend IRL). the sounds are just a half assed job i found with frostwire. my friend and i tried to make a powerup model for it, but we couldnt get it to work properly.

It does indeed look a lot like the urimas one.

To be fair, he too used a pre-modeled one. So it's more than possible that this could have happened.

Not technically true, a Vulcan Machine Gun is a mounted "chaingun" like on a gunship or assault aircraft.

updated with better sounds!
the fire sound is the used for the fg42 or whatever its called in wolfenstein enemy territory. the reload sound is a random sound i found on the net. the ringing sound is now just totally silenced.

I need the appropriate powerup, fire rate of this gun please.. im using it and dont want it to be exactly the same as a autorifle.. i must have to say looks good but silencer isnt needed!! Real ChainGuns are super loud Smile
